How to Feast on Life

A mindset of lack means constant suffering. Living from a perspective of “not enough” will keep you stuck in a hopeless cycle of worry, frustration, and emptiness. But opening yourself to a mindset of abundance? That will bring you peace, contentment, and a deep sense of being whole. It’s all about finding ways to feast on your life. Read more

When You Really, Really Want Someone to Change

You’ve been there, right? When you really, really wish that person over there would change and make your life better? You wish your boss would be more understanding. You wish your partner would communicate more openly. You wish your friend would listen a little more and talk a little less. It’s a frustrating place to be. Read more

Be Exactly Who You Are (the music video)

When I celebrated my one year blogiversary with The Blog Song this past February, I was delighted to receive several emails from friends saying that their young daughters really enjoyed my goofy production. And that gave me an idea for a new music video. So this one goes out to all my “little sisters.” Read more

Meet Anna of Curvy Yoga!

Anna Guest-Jelley is truly one of my favorite people online. I’m not sure when I first discovered her or her lovely website, but from my very first encounter, I knew this woman was shining her light in a major way.

As you well know, we live in a culture that continually tells us it is absolutely not okay to be anything other than thin. I encounter women every single day — my clients, my Nia students, my blog readers — who are ashamed of their bodies and feel they can’t fully participate in life unless they lose weight. I used to believe this very same thing. And I am here to tell you, it’s a myth. An ugly lie. You CAN live an amazing life right now, in whatever body you happen to own. And Anna is absolutely living that truth. As a plus-sized woman, she is consciously creating her best life rather than letting cultural standards dictate what she can and can’t do. And she is creating a space where other people can do the same. Read more

Creative Reflections

This month’s hostess with the mostest for the Self-Discovery Word by Word Blogger Series is the incredibly insightful Margarita Tartakovsky. If you don’t already read her blog, Weightless, get your tail over there right now. It’s an amazing haven from the insanity of our diet-obsessed culture. You’ll get major inspiration and education on how to love your body and break free from the number on the scale. Her blog has become one of my absolute favorites.

Margarita has selected “creativity” as our word to explore this month. Read more

Visions of Flow

Hello, hello! I know a lot of you out there are doing the word of the year thing, so before we get too far into 2011, I thought I would share the vision board I created to go with my word (flow). Creating some sort of visual representation of your word is a really great way to continue exploring your word and inviting it into your life. In today’s video, I talk a bit about how to approach this process, and I give you a detailed tour of my own board. Enjoy! Read more

Thoughts on Growth and Change
