Inspiring Words

About this time last year, I was facing a great deal of fear, uncertainty, and pain. One of my dearest friends shared the beautiful words below with me. Now, a year later, I am living my answers. May these words speak to anyone who is feeling a bit lost today.

"I beg you... to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday, far in the future, you will gradually, without ever noticing it, live your way into the answer..."

- Rainer Maria Rilke, 1903; in Letters to a Young Poet

P.S. Two reminders! First, if you wrote a found poem and would be willing for me to share it, please email it to me by Friday at 4 pm. Second, if you want to be entered in the Inspiring Songs CD Giveaway, make sure to add your comment by Saturday!

    Joy,
I love the quote! What a great reminder that everything happens, in its time…and that’s okay.… (and there’s a certain peace in reading this, as well.…)

  3. I love this quote! It’s often easy to get frightful over uncertainty and questions that may rise during trying times, but as the quote points out, we should live those questions because one day the answer will come. Thanks for sharing!!

    Hello Joy

Wow, these words are incredible! I just love reading or hearing such words where the energy of the wisdom and love in them, really takes the breath away.

It is so true, there are times we want answers NOW! But we really must have faith in the perfection of all that is. We will know all, when the time is right — when we can live those answers out fully, when we can grasp the purpose of it all.
