My Discovery Board: A New Approach
January 25, 2012
The past two Januarys, I’ve started the new year by selecting a word of the year and creating a vision board. There are many different takes on what a vision board actually is, how to create one, and what the purpose is. I’ve always tried my best to keep my vision boards fairly abstract and based on desired feeling states rather than specific objects and outcomes I think I need/want in my life. I’ve never been into the whole idea of posting a picture of a shiny new car on my board, for example, and expecting to magically have a new car enter my life in the coming year. Somehow, that approach doesn’t sing to my soul. (If this approach works for you, by all means, rock it out.)
The open approach I’ve taken has served me well overall, but this year I felt the need to go even deeper into the energy of openness and discovery. Read more
[Monday Morning Spark] About Those Things You Know For Sure
January 23, 2012
At any given time in life, we all have a small (or not so small) handful of things we are pretty certain about. Maybe we’re absolutely certain that jogging is the best form of exercise and everyone should seriously start a running regimen. Maybe we’re sure that a particular political candidate is the answer to our country’s problems. Maybe we wholeheartedly believe that high fructose corn syrup is destroying lives and needs to be banned. Admit it, you hold at least a few of these types of passionate beliefs. I know I do. And I say, these are great places to invite some curiosity. Read more

Check out this week’s video for the full scoop!

[Monday Morning Spark] Not Doing
December 5, 2011
I love making the weekly Spark videos. It’s not a chore. If it was, I wouldn’t do it. I enjoy letting the ideas float into my brain. I enjoy filming the videos. I enjoy editing the videos. And I especially enjoy sharing the videos with you. Sometimes I film the videos well in advance. And sometimes I find myself on Sunday afternoon wondering what the heck I’m going to say. However, when I relax and let go, an idea always comes in its own sweet time, even if I’m right down to the perceived wire. Read more
